Large-billed Reed Warbler: Not Extinct

Despite rumors to the contrary, the large-billed reed warbler is still among the living. This species of wetland bird was thought to be extinct until an ornithologist discovered one near a water treatment plant in Thailand a year ago. Feathers were taken from the small bird, and a DNA test confirmed its identity.
