Halliburton Will Move Its Headquarters to Dubai

Halliburton Energy Services, the oil services giant once headed by Dick Cheney, has announced its plan to move its headquarters from Texas to the United Arab Emirates. While the corporation will keep an office in Houston, the new headquarters will be located in Dubai.

Current Vice President Dick Cheney was chairman and CEO of the company until his retirement during the 2000 Presidential campaign. The Bush administration has received much criticism due to accusations that Halliburton has benefited from no-bid contracts in Iraq following the 2003 invasion.

Dubai has experienced its own controversy because of the government-owned DP World, which almost took over the security of U.S. ports last year.
