The Cloture Vote for the Immigration Bill Has Failed

It looks like the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007 may be dead. The bipartisan immigration bill failed to receive the sixty votes needed to end debate and schedule a vote on the legislation itself. The Senate leadship has shelved the bill until further notice.
